Must Watch: Have you seen Final Kid’s epic Flying Dutch aftermovie?

Screen Shot 2015-10-08 at 8.34.53 PMFrom the team that brought you the amazing Ultra aftermovie, Final Kid has a brand new aftermovie out and it’s tight. Flying Dutch is a three city party that brings together the biggest DJs to come out of Holland. Massive stages, massive crowds, massive DJs and a massive aftermovie.

“As A Dutchman I fly all over the world to film for international clients. But here is a project I simply couldn’t pass on. To me THE FLYING DUTCH felt like a celebration of the global succes of Dutch Dance Music. I don’t think many of us would have predicted that our little industry could become so big! I am proud to have been on this journey with many of the artists featured in this film and thankful for the talented crew I get to work with every day!” – Final Kid

Release: TC ft. Little Grace – Show Some Love

TCArtGoing all Rudimental on his latest single, drum & bass stalwart TC gets down with the trumpets for “Show Some Love”, which features musically gifted band Little Grace. Out now on 3Beat Records, it’s a more melodic and musical offering from the Bristol based producer, and one that will surely go down well.

Little Grace’s lead singer Ben Harrison provides the soulful vocal as horns, guitar licks and a stripped down drum break make up the bones of the track which, as radio friendly D&B goes, is pretty damn good. The package includes a remix from Fono, an extended Club Mix, an instrumental and a club ready VIP courtesy of TC himself.

Release: Albin Myers &Carli – The Legend (Remixes)

artworks-000130612900-6gm06b-t500x500Finding a release through Universal Sweden is the remix EP of the awesome “The Legend” singles from Albin Myers and Carli. The originals were released through Skrillex’s high profile label Nest, and they have now been repackaged in two delightful new formats.

The tracks were both created under the duo’s Busy Tempo alias, and they are throwbacks to that infectious old school sounds of the Nineties. The remix EP comes with two versions – a distinctive club edits that draws on plenty of dynamic piano chords and slick production elements, and the Danger Dub remix that takes the bassline deeper and more progressive.

Release: 501 – Infinity EP

Providing dubstep fans with something totally fresh to get their ears around this week is none other than Never Say Die veteran producer and DJ 501. He returns to the fray (and to the delight of his fans) armed with the “Infinity” EP, a four-track collection that shows exactly why he is so respected within the scene.

It all begins with the title track, a heavily melodic and apocalyptic feeling track that harnesses bucket loads of expression and production intricacies. Next up is the softly starting “Hold Back”, with its strong percussive elements and grinding drops, before the sample-heavy “Night Drive” that is brimming with epic breakdowns and build ups. Lastly comes “Show You”, which features driving vocal snatches and almost shimmering melodic sequences before its weighty drop.

Release: Philip George & Anton Powers – Alone No More (Ferreck Dawn remix)

10408625_881036438611346_8101283065547598703_nFerreck Dawn may be the definition of consistency. Coming off the massive “Jolene“, the Dutch house producer continues his ascent into mainroom staple. What I love most is the versatility behind Ferreck and his non-allegiance to certain house genres. From the tech and original mix of “Jolene”, and now to his remix of “Alone No More” for Philip George and Anton Powers. More on the feel good side of house and slightly more “poppy” make this an amazing mid-set banger.

Release: Chocolate Puma & Tommie Sunshine – Scrub The Ground ft. DJ Funk

12304927Had the pleasure of hearing this colossal track at No Neon back a few months ago with Chocolate Puma. Previously Tommie Sunshine and Chocolate Puma have teamed up on “Chicago Disco” on Size Records. This time around they’ve joined Heldens new label Heldeep to drop “Scrub the Ground” with DJ Funk.

“Chocolate Puma and Tommie Sunshine are taking things to the dirty side of house music. Nasty beats and a freak performance by DJ Funk already get this groove pumping. When the bass drops the vibe goes insane, high energy performance, floor satisfaction guaranteed.”

Free Download: Wycleff Jean – Sweetest Girl (Gummy Remix)

gummyThe Los Angeles based producer Gummy describes his music as a unique mixture of pop and electronic music. We discovered the young gun through his huge remix of “Sleepless” by Cazzette. His music sits in the direction of future bass stylings and his latest remix is a sweet take on the 2007 hit “Sweetest Thing” by Wyclef Jean. Who knows? Maybe one day his sound will be pop music.

Must Watch: Ultra Music Festival just one-upped every aftermovie

Screen Shot 2015-09-29 at 8.42.30 PMI’m not going to sugar coat it. A lot of big festival aftermovies have been real letdowns the last few years. Big budget productions that do a horrible job at capturing the essence of dance music and the festival. Often filled with cheesy editing gimmicks and a repetition of shots. They usually have me bored after two minutes and there’s no way in hell I’m sticking it out for the 10+ minutes. But, Ultra Music Festival and Final Kid are here to save the day. The 2015 aftermovie might actually beat the Tomorrowland 2011 aftermovie for my favourite ever. Bolted down a by a solid tracklist featuring Oliver Heldens, Shaun Frank and Delaney Jane’s “Shades of Grey”, Fono’s smashing “Real Joy” and a new Garrix track to boot. The mixing and transitions are flawless. Their’s a wide array of shots from artists and fan perspectives. And, to top it off the timelapses and use of 4k footage is unparelled. Bravo Final Kid!

Release: Vice ft. Estelle – Bright Lights

ViceArtReleased today through Ultra Music comes the blinding new single from LA based producer Vice. Another high quality piece of house from Ultra, “Bright Lights” brings on board expressive R&B vocalist Estelle, who really stamps her mark on the tune.

It is her vocals that set the tone from the offset, and they move fluidly over a pulsing and dynamic beat. The track is energised and uplifting, with bouncing piano chords and a groove-ridden bass line that keeps on giving.

With such a high profile vocalist featuring here, “Bright Lights” is going head straight for the main circuits as summer grinds to a halt. You can grab yourself a copy here.
