Must Listen: Lido records “thoughts from a tour bus” over “Here” by Alessia Cara

lido-torontoIt’s pretty clear that Lido is a lot more than your average EDM artist. Heck, he’s barely even EDM. We had the chance to take him in two Fridays ago at The Hoxton in Toronto. A night we waited six months for and it did not dissappoint. From Santell coming out and performing “Pillows” and “Ashley” off their The Passion Project EP to Lido going in about how his Soundcloud account being harassed in a small rant. And, while he had an amazing show and said amazing things about the audience and venue post-performance, you could tell their was something up when he was so locked in on getting back to the bus to record a vocal.

Anyhoo, three days ago he uploaded his own take on Vincent’s remix of “Here” by Alessia Cara. Ironically, Vincent’s remix has been taken down from Soundcloud and Lido had to make a new account because his was frozen. Listen to him go in about tour life, groupies, Soundcloud, record label execs and being left alone.

After creating a track with label head and dubstep veteran SKisM, LAXX is now back firmly in the spotlight, and armed with a new three-track collection.

Titled “Twitch Pt.1”, it moves away from the progressive development of his “Step” series, and on to pastures new. Featuring a tension-filled title track and a blistering collaboration with Mayhem sandwiched in there, LAXX displays even more confidence than before in his production.

Jenaux drops a remix of “Nothing Left” by Kygo & “Girls Like Girls” for free DL!

jeneauxI can totally admit that a year ago I had no faith in Jenaux’s sound. But, apparently he was just tickling the surface because he’s had a huge 2015. We always thought he was stuck in that muddled up big-room sound middleground, but holy were we wrong. With a huge remix of “Sleepless”, a massive banger with The Chainsmokers, and tracks like his “Girls Like Girls” and “Nothing Left” remix for Kygo he’s proven his versatility and ear for massive pop-laden tracks. Oh yeah, he’s also had a Anjunabeats release and huge Cash Cash remix ft. Busta Rhymes and B.o.B.

“So this right here is almost a teaser of what’s to come. I loved the original of this tune, so I just high passed it, sped it up, and put some complimenting chords and and added that BIG ROOM FUNK drop sound that you guys should get used to ;)” – Jenaux
