Preview: Vintage Culture ft. Stee Downes – Break that Formula

vintage-cultureI expect 2016 to be a huge year for Vintage Culture. He’s conquered South America in every way possible. Like his On the Road said, the next step is North America. He hinted at a possible Spinnin Records releases in the future. Anyhoo, here’s his first single of 2016 and it’s a juicy one. Featuring Stee Downes on vocals the track features that classic Vintage Culture groove and crispy clean bassline. No word on a release date yet on this one.

Canadian-American producer Dual Citizen drops this extremely catchy and groovy track titled,”Where U At”. Labeled as Future R&B there’s something fun and super original about the production style. Of course, it samples the famous “Where You At” 2011 single from Jennifer Hudson.

Release: LAXX – TWITCH Pt. 2

TwitchPt2500Having dropped Pt.1 a mere few weeks ago, LAXX has just returned to Never Say Die with the next section of his “Twitch” series. He’s an artist who can’t seem to do much wrong at the moment, with plenty of shows around the world and his army of fans growing by the day.

“Twitch Pt.2” is also made up of three tracks, and features another collaboration – this time the ferocious and frenzied “Destruktion” which has been made with Brillz. The other two tracks take the form of “Get Up”, which is darkly atmospheric with looped vocals and “Live And Direct” – which is made up of a myriad of unique sounds and textures.

Release: Chris Lake & Chris Lorenzo – The Calling

chris-lorenzo-chris-lake-2015-billboard-650x650-aBass House seems to be everywhere nowadays from all over Soundcloud to nights like Nightbass in LA and No Neon in Toronto. Premiering on Mixmag, we have two of the UK’s best producers teaming up again for an absolute tune. ‘The Calling’ is definitely different from most bass house songs out there, being more experimental, darker and instrumental whilst containing signature sounds from both artists.

Preview: Oliver Heldens & Throttle – Waiting

throttle-heldens-waitingThrottle’s unique disco style meshes with Oliver Heldens future house swag perfectly. “Waiting” is bolted down by a massive melody and a huge piano. When the announced their collab I was instantly intrigued. We haven’t been following Heldens too much over the last year or so, but this record is definitely worth our time.

Release Date: January 11

artworks-000136708009-xxcikx-t500x500Since Santell popped on our radar with Lido we’ve been obsessed with his voice. This time around he’s teamed up with Branchez a delightfully sweet record. Preview: Hardwell & Funkerman – Where Is Here Now (Franky Rizardo Remix)

franky-rizardoIt’s been a hot second since we’ve seen Franky Rizardo link up with Hardwell. They couldn’t have chosen a better record for Franky to remix. Debuted in his radio show, Franky’s “Where Is Here Now” remix is considerably more house than the already housey Funkerman and Hardwell original. It comes in the shadows of hugely popular “Baby Slow Down” with Ferreck.

Release Date: December 4th

Release: SMAJL – Goosebumps

SmajlArtJust released through Universal Sweden is the stunning new single from Swedish group SMAJL. As a breakthrough collective, they have already seen plenty of support on Spotify for some of their early sounds – and that looks set to continue.

This week they have delivered “Goosebumps”, a truly sublime piece of electronic based, tropical house. Drenched in atmospheric qualities, it doesn’t take long for spine-tingling vocals to lead the way on this track, carefully supporting the saxophone-based riffs that soon become prominent. A gorgeous blend of beat and melody, “Goosebumps” will give listeners exactly that.

Release: King Arthur vs Topher Jones – Before I Was King

How does one introduce a new production alias when you’re already an established artist in your own right? Release music under both names on one release, of course. Having taken the world by storm as Topher Jones, he unveils new moniker, King Arthur, in a ‘collaborative’ remix EP for Ultra Music.

Picking three old favourites for “Before I Was King”, Jones reworks himself under his new King Arthur project with some epic house flavours. Crowd pleaser “Brohammer”, previously released on Skrillex’s OWSLA label, gets a thumping revamp with distorted, driving bass lines and piano chords. “Talk About It” gets the 90’s house revival treatment while “Lost It All” smooths off the edges.

The fantastic “Before I Was King” is out now and you can get it from here.

Release: Tez Cadey – Walls EP

Tez-Cadey-Walls-500x500Clocking in at seven tracks deep, Tez Cadey drops his brand new EP (although it almost feels like a mini album) via release on Ultra Music. “Walls” is a brooding collection that traverses the sounds and styles of house music, laced with soul yet showing technical adeptness within the production.

With popular previous single “Seve” featured on here, you also get the 80’s retro electronica of “Little Fish”, the guitar driven title cut “Walls”, featuring the vocals of Julia Church, and the synth driven “Palm” – a funky uptempo offering which offers a nice contrast with its disco funk stylings.

For this release, Cadey shows many influences on his musical sleeve and “Walls” is the perfect introduction to a future star. You can stream it here.
