Release: Watermät & MOGUAI – Portland (Original Mix)

An unlikely duo, Moguai and Watermat, just teamed up for one of the tracks of 2015. “Portland” comes in as a hybrid of Moguai’s electro house energy with Watermat’s chilled out melodies. I’ll definitely using this song for my own video projects.

Release: Laidback Luke & Chocolate Puma – Snap That Neck (Original Mix)

laidback-luke-chocolate-pumaThis one is heavy AF!

“We’ve known Laidback Luke for 20 years now, but we never made a record together. Until last summer, when we got together in the studio to make ‘Snap That Neck’. It was a really cool experience to make music with our ‘pupil’, who in his turn became a master for so many other producers and DJ’s. Our approach to making music is quite different, but we have so much history together, and we knew what direction we wanted to go with the track, that the whole process was so much fun and was going very smooth and easy.” – Chocolate Puma

Release: Tom Swoon & Swanky Tunes – Last Goodbye

Ultra Music today release the new collaboration between Tom Swoon and Swanky Tunes, titled “Last Goodbye.” Polish DJ/producer Swoon has had a busy period of releases in particular, having just remixed Kelly Clarkson and a rework of Owl City and Aloe Blacc on the way.

Back to this new single, and “Last Goodbye” is electro-fuelled ball of dynamics, packed with a crisp bass line and a thumping beat. It also has moments of contrast – listen out for the dreamy, euphoric vocal breakdown midway through.

Release: Vigiland – Shots & Squats

Putting some real personality into their work this week is Swedish house act Vigiland, who drop the mighty party anthem ‘Shots & Squats’ through Universal Sweden today. With a title as bold as that, the tune naturally lives up to its name, ensuring that even the shyest floor fillers will be shaking it out after hearing this.

Using a riotous vocal riff to kick proceedings off, Vigiland support this melody with a pulsating beat and clever guitar layering. Wholly satisfying and guaranteed to put a smile on your face, this duo has taken Melbourne House and given their own very unique twist on it.

If you want to add this to your summer soundtrack, you can do so here.

Free Download: Mapei – Change (Brynny & Vigiland Remix)

brynnyBrynny has been holding onto this weapon for a hot second. He’s teamed up with Vigiland to remix the crowd favourite “Change” by Mapei. After some label issues they’ve finally released the Melbourne Bounce remix for free download. In traditional Brynny style, the sound design is so on point. What I find so interesting about the track is Vigiland’s native land. They’re based out of Sweden and make Bounce. That shit just doesn’t computed. Anyhoo, it’s a minimal, doesn’t take the chopped vocals in a cheesy direction and rocks so hard.

Free Download: Above & Beyond – Sun & Moon (Brynny Remix)

brynnyBryn Parkinson is back with another mental Melbourne Bounce offering. The young producer out of Melbourne has taken the behemoth “Sun & Moon” by Above & Beyond and turned it into a bounce beast. As usual he infuses his complextroesque’ drop into the equation for sound design that really tests sound systems.
