Release: Nause – The World I Know (Remixes ft. UZ & Stranger)

UZArtHaving caught people’s attention with the 80’s retro feel of the original, Swedish house pairing Nause take their recent hit “The World I Know” and draft in two sets of producers to give their own take it.

Up first is UZ & Stranger, who join forces to turn the track on it its head and turn it into a trap driven beast. Pitching and chopping up the vocals on the intro, it builds and twists into a low slung groove led by hi hats and clap drums. The second remix comes courtesy of Samuraii, who strip everything back for a more mellow offering.
They are out via Universal Sweden – grab them here.

“Nobody Told Me” Andrew Bayer’s new single would be a curveball

AndrewBayer-ElectricZooAndrew Bayer has always been an innovator of sounds, but I don’t think anyone saw this one coming. Premiered at ABGT150 this past weekend in Australia, “Nobody Told Me” plays of recent bass and electro house trends. Except, instead of copying and imitation like most other mainstage DJs Bayer went and completely re-imagined the sound to fit his style.

Release date: TBA

Free Download: Excision – Shambhala Mix 2015

Legendary dubstep maker Excision is back on the radar this week, and he has just dropped his utterly sick Shambhala 2015 mix – something which has become an annual tradition. This one hour, twenty-three minute selection certainly doesn’t disappoint, and features some of the heaviest bass sounds around right now across its seventy track listing.

Alongside the mix comes a brand new mix compilation, and this is also epic. Spanning forty tracks, and including many bangers from the mix, expect to hear the brand new “Again & Again” made by Excision and Dion Timmer, and much new music from the likes Snails, Trampa, Spag Heddy and Modestep. Why not pick up a copy here.

Having said farewell to his “Executioner” sound system last year, Excision now welcomes “The Paradox” to his arsenal – an immersive combination of visuals, lighting and sound production that is going to blow fans away as it reaches them. It all begins in December in Minneapolis and Chicago – head here for tickets.

Free Download: The Chainsmokers – Roses (The Him Remix)

the-himThe Him blasted onto our radar alongside Sam Feldt and huge tracks like “Midnight Hearts“. Coupled with a huge remix of “Headlights” for Robin Schulz they’ve solidified themselves as emerging EDM stars. To follow up their “Can’t Feel My Face” remix they’ve dropped a free remix of “Roses” by The Chainsmokers. Debuted in The Chainsmokers Nice Hair radio, we immediately recognized the ID. Those pulsating piano chords are too recognizable.

Free Download: Endor – Found Out (Crush On U)

endorEndor is a dude we’ve been following for a few months. He makes bubbly house music with big and bold basslines. Hailing from London, Endor’s sound encompasses what we love about house music overseas. Unfortunately, we don’t get nearly enough of it on this side of the pond. His latest release is a free download that is made for DJs. He utilizes the famous “Crush On You” vocal from Nero and turns it into a sweet mid-set record.

Release: Jeremy Olander – Lunar (Original Mix)

The brand new release of Suara contains some tracks of melodic, avant-garde, harmonic techno. Not just a powerful bassline, a strong kick or some hypnotic loops. We are talking about feelings and emotions as well. The Swedish Jeremy Olander returns to the kitties’s label after his sucessful remix of Dosem- Runnerpark with 3 tracks (‘Hanover’, ‘Lunar’ and ‘Exchange’), each one better than the last. A huge release for techno heads, proggy fans or simply music lovers. – Suara

Preview: The Weeknd – The Hills (RL Grime Remix)

rl-grime-hard-torontoWithin an hour of uploading to Soundcloud RL Grime’s newest record will have over 30,000 plays. It’s not everyday you’re given a chance to remix The Weeknd, but if anyone is gonna do it proper, it’s RL Grime. He attacks the vocal with a future bass meats trap percussive assault.

Destructo just laid down a 110bpm dance floor machine for free download

destructo-hard-torontoOkay, so it’s actually 112bpm, but like the majority of dance fans care. Destructo (oh, you mean Gary?) has always been ahead of the curve when it comes to emerging sounds in dance music. So, it’s no surprise that he’s expanded once again to slow down the speed and bring it back electro style. “Techno” samples the famous Eminem line that Funkagenda made so popular in the electronic world. We had the privilege of hearing this twice in one day when followed him from London to Toronto two weekends ago. Load up the hydrants because this one is fire.

soslo sample Mariah Carey on breathtaking “Forget”

soslooEvery so often you come across a record that make you stop everything to figure out what the f$%# you just listened too. Los Angeles based duo SOSLO did that to me while I was surfing the deep realms of Soundcloud today. They come from a trap and hip-hop background it seems like, but they’ve completely nailed the future bass f33lz on their new record “Forget”. Never thought I’d hear Mariah Carey on a future bass record, and holy is it perfect. This track is so cerebral.
