Preview: Vintage Culture, Hot Light – Secret Lover (Original Mix)

vintage-cultureSouth American producer Vintage Culture has been on a roll lately. His last remix of “Burn” is a bassline beast and his new collab with Hot Light is no slouch. As always, “Secret Lover” flex’s very hard.  The deep house infused tune is a powerful record meant for long nights and grimy dance floors. While Vintage Culture hasn’t really established himself in North America yet, I’m sure his time will come because his music is way too disgusting.

Release DatE: TBA

What was the biggest track during the closing parties in Ibiza? This.

CS550944-01B-BIGDebuted by Pete Tong on Radio1, the new track from Michel Cleis & Klement Bonelli titled ‘Marvinello’ may quite possibly might be the biggest house track of 2014. Given out to a select few DJs, the Marvin Gaye sampled track has been blowing minds over the last few months. We had the honour of hearing Pete Tong drop this beast at New City Gas a few weeks ago. We’ve been searching everywhere since and we’ve finally got some closure. With no set digital release dae yet, we just hope it makes it out before the year is up.

He’s helped Flume & What So Not. Is Naderi the next big Aussie dance export?

artworks-000099866342-z1dz4h-t500x500Shaun Naderi shares a studio space with Harley Edward Streten, better known as Flume, and is responsible for helping catapult names like Harley, What So Not and Nicole Millar to international dance music status. Maybe it’s something in the water, but Australia continues to push out some of the most forward thinking and quality electronic music. What I love most about Austalian producers is that they are all doing something so different from the popular trends in North America. Possibly because they are so far from everyone. Melbourne Bounce came through with a fresh sound and then guys like Motez, Anna Lunoe and so many more are pushing some of the best dance music in the World. So, if you’re looking for the next Aussie sensation look no further than Naderi.  He’s just released his first track with his solo project and is really turning some ears. Moving in the direction of Flume’s future bass inspired sound, Naderi’s first release is a free remix of “Coward” by Kilter. A melodic masterpiece that weaves the original vocal with some amazing melodic layering into a trapstyle drop that goes hard, but is beautiful at the same time. Impressed would be an understatement.

Free Download: KDrew – Tonight (Hunter Siegel Remix)

hunter_siegel_londonHunter Siegel takes things a little deeper on his latest remix of “Tonight” by KDrew. Only available for a limited time as a free download, so cop it quick. Siegel’s been cooked up in the studio (y u so pale?) whipping up some sweet beats (When is he not?). His “Tonight” remix shows off a different side to his house music with a deeper oriented style. Still, the track really encapsulates the energy Hunter produces with. From a smooth as f$%^ bassline and his notorious high-hats. As always, his mix is super punchy and hits the dance floor with just the right amount of attitude. A sweet little present to tide us over until his Jack U remix drops.

Release: Franky Rizardo – Olympus + Deep Down & Defected Vol. 7

franky-rizardoTons of people comparing Franky Rizardo’s new tune “Olympus” to Ten Walls sounds, but we beg to differ. While the bass sound is similar, the track offers a lot more in-terms of instrumentals  and progression. This one is a room filler and club banger.  “Olympus” is featured on Deep Down & Defected Vol. 7 along with “Enzyme” from Franky and his “I Can’t Stop” remix.

Must Watch: Bud Light Digital Dreams 2014 Official Aftermovie

Digital Dreams 2014The day we’ve been waiting on for months. The Bud Light Digital Dreams 2014 aftermovie is finally upon us with the announcement of ticket sales for 2015s edition. The Black Cat Syndicate once again impresses by stepping up their production one more time. What it may lacks in a storyline like previous editions, it makes up for in post-production. There are so qualms to pick at though. The majority of the video focused on the mainstage, with minimal shots of the House of Boom and almost none of Fantasy Land. Still, the video delivers the feels and nostalgia. From the tsunami set delivered by Green Velvet, Justice’s legendary return to Toronto and so much more. Are you ready for 2015?
